How to Help

One of the goals of Rat Terrier Rescue Canada is to rehabilitate our rescued Rat Terriers to a healthy and happy state so that they can be adopted. We often rescue Rat Terriers that are in desperate need of medical care and come to us with multiple heath issues. These very special Ratties need your help to get them healthy and adoptable. Without your support, we can't continue to help these dogs. Please make it possible for these little Ratties to have the happy life that they deserve. We appreciate every donation, and all donations go directly towards the care of Ratties in need. We are a non-profit corporation with Charitable status in Canada.

Poor Brie. She was picked up as a stray with a painful bulging eye. You see, glaucoma had set in and it was obvious that her previous owner either didn't care or could not afford the treatment. Luckily, Rat Terrier Rescue Canada came to her rescue and provided her with the much needed care. This sweet and easy going girl was such a trouper, going through the operation with flying colours.

After being in rescue for six months her good eye started to develop glaucoma as well. An appointment was made with a veterinary ophthalmologist and was soon diagnosed with congenital glaucoma so she will eventually lose her other eye. To keep her good eye healthy and slow down the onset of glaucoma she requires two types of eye drops daily at a combined cost of $100 every two months. Brie's very acceptance of them because she knows she gets a small treat every time!

She is such a loving dog, always by your side, wanting to be petted or just bury her nose beside you when you are sitting or sleeping. Won't you please offset the cost by making a donation towards her medical needs?

It would mean so much to Brie if you might send a donation to our RTRC Treasurer to help to buy medicine for her eye. If we receive more donations than we need for Brie's medicine she has lots of rescued friends in Rat Terrier Rescue who need help too with their vetting costs, so I will share the donations!
